Broward college North campus is expanding the visibility of visual arts on campus
with a mural competition, as part of the annual ArtFest.
$2500 toward the completion of a mural + artist lecture

Terms:
- Painting should begin by November 26 and completed by approx. November 30, 2018.
- The selected artist must be available to paint live during ArtFest,
on Wednesday, November 28, and at least 2 other days during the week.
-The selected artist will receive a $2500 stipend to complete the mural.
- There is an option for the selected artist to give an artist lecture about their artwork at the North Regional library on Monday, November 26, 2pm, as part of this honorarium.
Murals will be remain up for approx. 2 or more years, contingent upon administrative decisions.
- 1 artist will be selected to create a large-scale mural on four successive outdoor walls next to the North Regional Library.
- The four walls for the mural are approximately 6' high by 8' wide, (with blank walls in between in a zig zag formation),
- A committee of 5 to 10 members will decide the finalists and forward recommendations to the administration for approval.
- The committee will give preference to artworks that fit the theme - Uplifting imagery, symbolizing any of the following ideas:
- Resilience,
- Overcoming challenges,
- Rising above,
- Diversity,
- Growth,
- or similar.
- Sketch of proposed work should be in full color, portray 4 sections, and accurately represent the intended imagery.
- Art must be original, (designed by you), and cannot contain copyrighted imagery or logos.
Terms:
- Painting should begin by November 26 and completed by approx. November 30, 2018.

- This stipend is intended to cover all necessary art supplies, equipment, travel, & lodging. (BC will not be able to provide any materials or equipment such as ladders or lifts).
- There is an option for the selected artist to give an artist lecture about their artwork at the North Regional library on Monday, November 26, 2pm, as part of this honorarium.
